I pledge support to Alzheimer Scotland’s Manifesto on Dementia

It is with great pleasure that today i signed to pledge support to the manifesto on supporting Dementia produced by Alzheimer Scotland.

Families across Scotland will all have had experiences of someone they love having Dementia, for my family it was my Great Grandmother. One in three people will die with dementia and half the population of Scotland have had a family member or close friend with dementia.

Dementia is not something that affects an individual, it can affect a whole family and that is why I join today the campaign to raise awareness of the work Alzheimer Scotland do and to ensure all those with Dementia and their families are properly supported by East Ayrshire Council.

I would urge all candidates regardless of political colour, as this is not a party political issue to sign up to this pledge and if we fail to produce hold us to account.
